Truffle hunting is a very interesting activity in the nature.

We begin by finding the proper place and spots and we let the dogs do the rest, guiding them properly.

Depending on the type and the quantity of truffle we are looking for, truffle hunting may last for more than 10 hours a day.

During the summer season, dogs cannot hunt all day long due to the heat and therefore hunting takes place only at the very early hours of the morning or in the afternoon.

The dog can detect the truffle smell that comes out only from those truffle that are mature enough, which can be found from 3 to 25 centimeters under the ground.

After finding the truffle, dogs dig the ground to bring it up to the surface. That is where the hunter intervenes so that the truffle does not get ruined by the dog.
